            "We" is still the most important word in the social justice vocabulary and "We" have no choice but to build the largest statewide grassroots voter registration campaign in the history of this state. But WE NEED YOU and HISTORY NEEDS YOU, the local freedom fighters, the experienced and inexperienced to join us in this urgent endeavor.

             On Saturday, July 14 we plan to set the stage for this massive campaign that only the North Carolina NAACP can undertake. We must register over 40,000 new voters before November. The Emergency Civic Engagement & GOTV Summit is where you'll get the tools to make this happen.

 Here are seven things EVERY NAACP Unit needs to know or do prior to July 14:

• Branch Presidents, VAN Captains, Religious Affairs Chairs and Political Action Committee Chairs MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE at one (1) of the July 14th Emergency Summit locations (Wilson or Winston-Salem).
• Branch Presidents please fill out the Google Doc with your Political Action Committee Chair and Religious Affairs Committee Chairs.

• ALL NAACP OFFICERS AND MEMBERS from local branches and Youth Councils, High School and College Chapters that are already conducting or need to conduct, voter education, registration and Get Out the Vote Campaigns MUST ATTEND!
• WHAT TO BRING:  Laptops and surge protectors if possible for further VAN training. Please bring extra laptops and surge protectors if you have any to share for the day.
• Each unit should come with their VAN captains and 150 voter registration forms ALREADY FILLED OUT!   Or bring the number of forms that you have.
• EVERY UNIT SHOULD COME WITH VOTER REGISTRATION FORMS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN ENTERED INTO THE VAN!

 It would be much appreciated if you pre-register so we can plan ahead. There will, however, be on-site registration as well.
