Rocky Mount City Councilman Andre Knight, president of the local NAACP and the state NAACP have won a major court victory that helps all people of color in North Carolina. A dispute over Knight's address threatened to cost
him his council seat and his right to vote. But many believed the problem wasn't the candidate's residence, but his skin color -- part of a movement to eliminate the black majority on the City Council.
